Under medical they should list appetite for this lovely hybrid does the job nicely. The high is very uplifting and the next day you’ll approach your day with renewed vigor. The depression-zapping qualities of this strain are incredible. As someone who has been on anti-depressants for years, this strain allowed me to taper off and finally end the pills. It’s that good. You don’t need to smoke or vape every day as the effects last for at least two days (not happy high but living life high). This has become my favorite, ahead of my other favorite OG Kush. It also doesn’t impair your short-term memory as other strains can, so that’s a bonus. No paranoia (which is rare for me) or anxiety. Just a pleasant way to relax at night watching tv. Never tried to do housework while using as that would defeat its purpose. It leaves you mellow, happy, and horny (bonus)!

This strain is a beast! I’m and everyday, multiple times a day, smoker. But this one, put me on my ass in a hurry! Too much will make you become one with your bed, and blankets. Just enough, and you’ll have zipped up energy for hours! The way down is nice and easy, not abrupt, or uncomfortable. This one can sneak up on you, and take you down. Being a daily smoker, I didn’t anticipate it to come on like it did. For some, (myself included) it can come on very strong. It can cause a bit of an unsettling feeling when it first comes on, due to the fast acting strength of this strain. I believe newcomers should approach this strain with respect, and just a liiiiitle bit of caution. And as for the vets out there, it will be a welcomed strength. Wellllll, this strain has started popping up EVERYWHERE. When I initially heard about it I was pretty excited (how could you go wrong with those genetics?). So I bought some sap, and the stuff didn’t look all that great, but it smelled nice and terpy, so I figured what the hell right? So my first experience with Gelato kind of ruined this strain for me honestly (for the time being anyway). Basically when this guy was pushing the wax, he #1: Didn’t bother to dry or cure first, and #2 is that he used the wet, chlorophyll saturated FAN LEAVES to make this. Now I was having a particularly intense episode of either Gastritis or Cyclic Vomiting, and NEEDED my THC or I was a miserable, nauseated, weak, sweaty, bile-heaving wreck. This stuff.. legitimately tasted so foul and powerfully of chlorophyll, that rather than helping my nausea and vomiting, the taste of a SMALL dab would immediately trigger the vomiting it was supposed to stop. Now I have tried it multiple time since then, however, I unfortunately seem to associate the unique taste of this strain now with the taste of OVERWHELMING chlorophyll, and overall… I dunno man this particular strain just doesn’t jive too well with me. However, I can for SURE see why some people absolutely love it. I personally however, find it to be somewhat of an underwhelming strain, despite the heavyweight parents. I dunno. This is the strain you MEDITATE on! It brings a floaty, dreamy bliss that I find conducive to meditation. Gelato has a smooth, superb, sweet, flavor. This is one of my all time favorite strains. I find it cerebrally stimulating, more so than other indica dominant hybrids(OG kush, dosi-dos, Mendocino Purps, etc). Because of this, I would not choose it for typical indica sleep effect, as it may cause mental activity including creativity, euphoria, but on the downside anxiety. This is my daytime indica. I use jt to enhance watching movies, eating, making love to my partner, and making music-which is my profession. Absolutely fantastic high. No foggy headed feeling and you actually feel like doing chores. mood improves 100% with no anxiety. This strain really helps me with my anxiety and depression. I’m not so angry all of the time and I tend to be nicer to the people I love. Bottom line, if you have depression, anxiety and/or quick to anger, I HIGHLY recommend this strain, it has made my life so much easier which makes my family happy. It’s not instant, there’s a bit of a delay, a few minutes. For me it’s the best so far, it relaxes me and calms my mind, quieting all the lists and worries so I can better focus. WOW!!!! This is an absolutely amazing strain. Picked up half an oz of Gelato #45 for $200 from the Cookies SF. Although I can’t say much for the dispensary itself, this top shelf flower is absolutely amazing! Beautiful purple buds glistening with trichomes and orange hairs. The smell is fruity and pungent, and I’m definitely keeping some of this around just so I can smell it again. The trim on these nugs is impeccable, very few stems and no leaves, just beautiful purple buds. The taste of fruity, creamy gelato bursts into your mouth with each hit you take. I have tried this with both a vaporiser (Volcano) and a bong, and each toke always leaves me yearning for more. Meanwhile, the high is slightly indica-dominant, but not couch locking. Gelato relaxes the body and the mind, while also lifting mood. Pain melts away as does stress. Even though this is a rather pricey strain at $20 a gram or $55 an eighth, it is a completely unique strain which every true cannasseur should try at least once. Goes well with it’s parent, Sunset Sherbet!

Even 30 plus in, no decrease… only escalation. Like Dark Energy. And it smells so good!! Imagine a million O’s in so, as in so….ooooo good! It smells that good. Pine fuel waxy fruity diesel vapor. Heavy. Its slicky too. Faught going down my vap chamber, clinging like a chameleon. Tastes beautiful in a vap. Its sophistication really shines. Smooth. It’s Sour Diesel killer. And I like Sour D. But, not even close. Makes Pineapple Express seem like Purina Dog Food. The aftertaste is a mellow jet fuel icy resin tiptoe. I’m not sure if relaxing is the word to describe this beautiful bud. Gelato is an excellent strain for sex. Its an outstanding hybrid that gives you the (near) best of both worlds. Its sativa side gives uplift, energy, and euphoric feelings; then the indica slows it all down and hits the body with relaxation and tingling. I’m less and less a fan of hybrids but this one is just really good. We’ve had it numerous times and it’s always a strong performer. We love trying new strains, but when gelato is available we invariably pick some up because it’s been so consistently successful for us. It’s not in my top 3 all time favorites. More like middle of the top ten.

Method: Cru’s Açaí Gelato Flower (classified as a balanced hybrid). Aka Gelato #45, I believe. Aroma: Wow damn, it smells so fruity and sweet. I can’t place it as it’s not exactly like Brazilian açaí but it’s an addictive smell for sure. 1/1 Star. Taste: What the heck? Welcome to the future. How do we have weed that tastes this good? A sweet, berry and vanilla undertone. Doesn’t taste like plant matter at all. There’s also a creamy coconut vibe. 2/2 Stars. Feel: Pretty awake when I’m focusing on doing something but if I relax I can definitely sleep. Not starving but could eat. Anxiety calmed. Music sounds great, even started dancing a little, could be good for festivals. I would 100% party on this. A versatile, long lasting high. 2/2 Stars. Ranking: I’ve been slaying my hybrid strain-picking game. Slightly beats out Big Smooth to be my new favorite hybrid strain. I wish I could’ve gotten my hands on some Sherbinski flower but Cru did a remarkable job. Beautiful grow at a solid price. I will definitely be buying more flower from them. Believe the hype. If you have severe DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, PAIN and/or INSOMNIA this is the perfect strain!!! I have severe Panic Disorder and insomnia and in a constant 24/7 fight or flight mode with constant panic attacks, but Gelato immediately eliminates all my anxiety, uplift’s my mood leaving behind any worries or depression and replaced with a smile stuck on my face, feeling euphoric, giggly and you can choose to either do something or just relax and chill. One of my favorite strains!! Idk what’s up with my brain chemistry, but I haven’t smoked in a littler over 2 years and recently started up again and a bunch of strains I tried out for anxiety worked for my anxiety and insomnia, but I’m never able to feel high anymore for some reason even with almost no tolerance. Northern Lights and Gelato seem to be the only strains that actually give me a nice euphoric cerebral high like the good old days back in high school where you just laugh at everything and feel happy and completely stress and anxiety free. While some strains have a song or two named off of them, few have a full-length album named in its glory. But enough about Young Dolph and his love for Gelato. Lets dive into the strain First impressions: Shit smells delicious. Earthy, but sweet. Like a weed flavored ice cream. Incredible. The toke: Hot damn. I’ve only smoked gelato out of a small but beautifully efficient bubbler, but the toke was so, so smooth. Similar to its scent, the sweet earthy taste holds for a truly magnificent toke. The high: There is two sides to the gelato high. Firstly, the high is rather lax, but not overpowering. It calms your nerves, gives you peace of mind, and makes you want to bump some slow, driving trap music or let your mind drift away to the complex riffs of some math rock tunes. Gelato also has a dash of euphoria, but rather than overwhelming you with a feel-good euphoric trip, it gives you a confident edge. The result is feeling like your best self, like a real G. Conclusion: This strain makes you feel like Young Dolph. 5/5.

Made an account to review this strain specifically. This is probably the best strain of weed I have ever smoked or come into contact with. Since I started smoking this on a daily basis I have noticed a change within who I am. I now have a lot more of a positive outlook on life in general. I am motivated to get up and do things throughout the day. It has helped me become confident in who I am and also helped me become even more creative. I recommend this strain to anyone who is trying to get fucked up but also trying to better themselves.

I recently obtained some Gelati – with an ‘i’ rather than an ‘o’ – which I’m confident assuming is the same (or super similar) strain to Gelato. (Google churns up no results for a strain galled Gelati) Regardless, the wonderful effects of the medicine have inspired me to write my first review. Wow. I am a very frequent smoker (all California medical-grade) and my tolerance is quite high. And yet… right now… well over an hour after smoking a moderate sized bowl (my first one of Gelati), I am ONLY NOW feeling the slightest comedown. My goodness. And the high is just superb. Very elevated mood, super relaxed, incredible body high, heavy eyelids and yet… still energizing. This is one of the best strains I have ever smoked. I am flush with top-shelf flower right now, and yet everything else I’m currently sampling (Cookies, Black Dog, DoSiDos, Sundae Driver, Tangie, Gorilla Glue etc.) just won’t be quite as satisfying. MID-REVIEW UPDATE- Despite my earlier comments about the comedown finally happing, I just felt a strong wave of relaxation and joy, that feeling when the indica traits ‘take you’. Wow, this strain even gets an A+ in longevity. I rarely buy in bulk, but if I’m ever able to procure some well-grown Gelato I’ll have to consider it VERDICT: One of the best strains in all the galaxy.

This has become one of my favourites. Doesn’t instantly hit but 20 seconds later it suddenly packs a strong punch. Plenty of euphoria and uplifting creativity. I feel this is a nice all-rounder – you feel both relaxed and calm yet you still have energy to function. I can imagine this to be great for outdoor activities, cooking, or simply just looking to get your mind off things.

THIS is the dopest dope I ever smoked. smells like flowers and candy and the smoke is smooth, creamy, sweet and slightly earthy. I’ve never had a better tasting strain. the high is clean and clear headed and very uplifting. I have ptsd and anxiety and this is one of the few strong strains that don’t trigger that. my #1 strain and I have tried many. also my favorite cookie fam strain next to it’s parent sunset sherbet. perfect 50/50 strain for daytime. 10/10

An absolute favorite. I’ve had #33, #41, papaya × gelato, high flyin Gelato, Lemon Cherry Gelato, Blueberry × Gelato, Gelati… all are wonderful. I find it somewhat strange that nobody hardly ever makes the connection that it actually tastes like the desert, Gelato. Like alot like it. Sometimes a certain cultivars will get a name of a food and not really taste much like it. But to me, it tastes and smells, both fresh and smoking, like it’s name sake. And such a kind buzz. Not too harsh, mellow, and makes every situation better. It’s getting harder where I’m from to find just regular Gelato. Everyone is wanting to cross is with other things which is nice too, but it is such a wonderful strain just as is. It’s definitely top 5 for me. I’m more of a straight sativa or straight indica guy usually, but it’s the only hybrid to hold tight in my top ranks. So for sativas I have Durban Poison and super lemon haze and indicas I have HINDU KUSH and do si dos/ grand daddy purps as a tie. I know they have a bit of sativa in them, but very little. And for a sativa dom.. Trainwreck I love…but I haven’t been able to find it in years. Having that again would make my ….decade lol. But actually of all those favorite, only durban is available in flower. That’s upsetting. Sometimes do si dos. But mever hindu, Super Lemon, granddaddy purps. And I know alot of people who want these strains as well. Can always find carts, but it’s kinda funny that these companies make carts of these but don’t have flower…which proves they are flavored to taste like those strains but not actually from those strains. Wish there was a bit more honesty. Like you know when you’re smoking real durban. Unique taste and buzz like nothing else. Carts get a similar taste, but the buzz isn’t right. Same with Gelato. Unmistakable taste. And buzz. But carts just don’t quite get it. Same as most concentrates. But for those looking for a sweet, flavorful happy buzz, get you some Gelato flower. I’ve not heard of many complaints. Just a good all around stain that i hope stays in heavy rotation for all to enjoy!

Illinois THC 27%. I think this is my favorite of all time. It’s so pretty to look at and the effects are just outta this world. Taste great , not super harsh on the lungs. The buds are fluffy ( not at all dry) and break up with ease. It mellows you out slowly and allows you to fall asleep peacefully. I feel like this strain was customized for me. And so does the dispensary because it’s the most expensive flower they sell =( As a side note if you are just starting out with medical cannabis. You may want to hold off on this one for a while. Because it’s super strong and potent , it may be overwhelming for a newbie. But for us ” heavy hitters” I recommend you get your hands on it as soon as you are able to.

Gelato #33 aka “Larry Bird” phenotype from Cookie Fam Genetics. My personal fav of the Gelato Phenotypes. Hard to find in Southern Cali, know a place in the valley that gets bud from the bay. Incredibly dense and super frosty, with lots of dark purple. Smells and tastes like the sweet dessert it’s named from. This cross is a great heady cerebral and euphoric high with some body for relaxing. Amazing unique strain from Official Cookie Fam Genetics, super rare for dank top shelf hybrid quality. 5/5

Gelato #33, aka “Larry Bird”. Purchased from Oasis Dispensary (North) in Chandler, AZ. Beautiful flower, tight dense nugs that were practically sparkling. My keif catch is gonna be so happy. This is a very interesting strain. Takes a little bit to kick in, but when it comes it’s like a truck to the face. In the best way possible. First time smoking it was worth a group. It was a great time, though talking was off and on since this strain is so heady. Second time I was alone, and consumption method was by vaping. I definitely enjoyed the solo experience much more. I was able to concentrate on my thoughts and let them wander. It’s not a strain I’d be able to smoke and then, say, work/do hard labor/exercise on. But low-key activities like painting or video games would be perfect. This stuff makes me so happy. Literally. I was in a depressive spiral when I smoked it alone, and it pulled me right out of my bad mood. So far this strain has made me the most uplifted and serene. Also great for pain – I felt floaty with no pain whatsoever. Overall, I give it a billion out of ten. This will be my go-to strain from now on.

This is what some would call a heavy hybrid. It does not send waves of relaxation pulsating through your body like an indica, but it comes close. It does not send you into mental hyper productivity like a sativa, but it comes close. It is 75% of each full experience, but beware: this means you are getting 150% of a high. It is great stuff, and quite trippy. I do not recommend taking this if you are socially anxious and are going to be in a new situation. Take this when you feel 100% comfortable with your surroundings.

This strain is probably in my all time time 3 favorite strains. It is definitely a heavy strain that is better for consumers with higher tolerances. I consumed oil via vape and it feels like a very intense and heavy sativa. I was not tired but very relaxed and able to resume normal daily activities. All stress melted away. My husband has a lower tolerance than me and he became pretty high that I woild not recommend someone with a low tolerance to drive after using this strain. He would have gotten lost for sure 🙂

If I had this 20 years ago, I probably would have LOST MY MIND. Now as an MS patient, I can really appreciate this proverbial godsend strain. Outstanding for anxiety halting mind-racing. Zero paranoia. Pure Focus. Should be called NZT-48, but the aroma/taste may not appeal to you; 9/10 would bang again. I would call it Sour Gelato. I’d like to see a GelatoXGumbo indica monster. Somebody make this.
